Waldseele
As part of the ‘Forests’ exhibition in the Frankfurt museums Senckenberg Natural History Museum, Romantic Museum and Museum Haus Sinclair, the museum education departments are travelling through Frankfurt with an inflatable tree installation and organising workshops with children. Mounted on a cargo bike, the pneumatic tree sculpture is reminiscent of the historic Senckenberg yew tree, which was transported in a wooden crate through Frankfurt to a botanical garden for the construction of the Natural History Museum.
The installation made of lightweight balloon fabric is erected by a battery-powered fan in just a few minutes and serves as a figurehead for the exhibition as well as a curiosity-generating teaching tool.
