About Database Українська

Gurtobus is a multifunctional mobile space that transforms a vehicle into a platform for lectures, exhibitions, educational programs, and artistic events. The project draws inspiration from historical travelling exhibitions initiated by Ukrainian artists in the 19th century and integrates these traditions into contemporary cultural discourse.

Gurtobus is built on the Volvo B12 bus's base. The interior has been redesigned into a multifunctional space with lighting, a system for displaying artwork, projector mounts, a screen, an additional TV, an external projection screen, an extra canvas roof in front of the bus, and air conditioning.

Since its launch, Gurtobus has visited over 50 settlements across Ukraine, bringing cultural and educational experiences to diverse communities. Reimagining mobility fosters accessibility to art and education, serving as a hub for collaboration, dialogue, and innovation.

The exterior of Gurtobus is decorated with illustrations by Ukrainian artist, curator, and gardener Alevtina Kakhidze.
